Four great events in one weekend. Join one, two or three and if you are a lady disc golfer, play in all four!
On Saturday we start out the morning with the single round 2nd Annual Trilogy Challenge. Last year this attracted a huge crowd and now with an even better grade of player pack for 2015 I expect could sell out The Hill...register early!
Saturday afternoon brings the newly announced MVP Circuit Series event to Devens for the first time! Similar in format to the Trilogy this is a great way to grab some new offerings in MVP plastic. Can you imagine a newcomer to the sport registering for both events and walking away with over $120 value in player's pack and swag? We can!
The fun continues into the night when at 9pm on Saturday we start a new tradition by crowning a glow round champion who will hold the title until 2016. Trophy, prizes and a player's pack.
On Sunday things turn a little more serious as we are very happy to announce the 1st Annual Devens Women's Open. A PDGA C-Tier event for just the ladies. Open, AM1 and Rec divisions will be offered.
Details and registration links will come up as soon as Hill Yeah finishes up. Stay Tuned!!!

Wednesday Weekly League Results - Week 3
Third week off league and the devens crew showed up in full force again. 58 players in total! We have had 161 players so far and have sold 87 tags along the way. Thank you for your continued support!
We started off with some nice weather last night but the winds picked up a little as the round progressed and there was some light rain for the last several holes. The rain really kicked in during payouts/tag distribution. I don't know about you all but I'm ready for a league day with good conditions all around..
I was hoping to advance to a 4:45 start next week BUT there were several groups finishing in the dark last night so we will continue with 4:30 next week. Be checked in and out to your starting hole by that time.
ACES (worth additional point in standings & $$)
none -
Hill Pot at $121
General Pot at $0
Skills Challenge (worth an additional point in standings) -
None

Wednesday Weekly League - Week 2 Results
Props to the 45 dedicated players who braved the fierce wind and cold last night. On the plus side, the walking was much easier than the week before with the hard packed snow instead of mush. Scores were really high (almost 67 on average) but I expect those to start dropping soon.
Next week we will start at 4:30 since every group made it off the course before dark this week.

League Starts Off with a BANG!
Back in the saddle. It was great to get everyone together on such a nice warm day after what seems like an extremely long offseason. With the snow still piled up pretty high on the hill we were expecting a max of about 30 people but more than double that actually showed up.. We got a total of 58 people onto the course to play and we turned away several who showed up too late to get to a starting hole. Play was slower than expected and several groups finished in the dark so we will still with a 4:15 start next week. Important to note that, given the large # of people, starting at the hawks nest turned into a bad idea. Next week will start from our usual spot in the main parking lot near hole 1. I'll be there and set up by 3:15 so please be signed in and at your assigned hole by 4:15.
Among the 58 players were about 15 players who either haven't played with our league before or maybe have done so once or twice in the past. Hoping this is a sign of a good year to come.

The Wait is Almost Over!
Finally, league is back in session this Wednesday! Sure, there is a bit of snow on The Hill but with the proper footwear walking the course is actually pretty easy. We did a little preseason league yesterday and 5 groups of 4 players played the course in about 2.5 hours. Some people are still using ribbons but most discs are staying on top of the snow. It is still a good idea to keep a close eye on all throws and use spotters on the blind holes.
We have already sold 47 tags and have some new players in the mix so I expect the league to grow again this year. We may start a little slow due to the snow but I expect to pick up the pace in a few weeks!
While we will normally start in the main parking lot near hole 1 we will be meeting at the Hawks Nest shop for the first few weeks. We were going to do a shortened courses but after the preseason round I am confident we can finish the whole course if we all keep play moving along.
Couple notes about discs lost in the snow. Please limit search times to 3 minutes and come to a group decision on the spot of the disc if it is not found. There are no penalty strokes assessed for lost discs at this time. When all the snow is melted we will go back to the usual lost disc rules (re-tee or re-throw from previous lie with a penalty).

League Starts Next Wednesday with a Preseason Round on Sunday!
Unfortunately, there is still a lot of snow on the ground but we will carry on with our scheduled official start to league NEXT Wednesday! We will need to make a few concessions though until the courses are in better shape. We will be limited to just The Hill for the time being and we will be starting out at the Hawks Nest shop.
