Please Help Shovel Tee Boxes Sunday Morning

Please help us shovel the tee boxes on Sunday morning - Meet at 9:30 - If the usual parking lot is not plowed than we will meet at the old shop. Hopefully we can get at least 3 groups of 2 people so one group can take on (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 17) another group can take on (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 18) and the last group can take on (6, 7, 8, 9 & 16).
Bring a shovel, not sure if the Dean-o specials will hold up to this snow.
If we finish early and have some energy left we can attempt to play a round?

Selling Gear Again Tomorrow

Quick FYI - I will be selling gear at the league tomorrow starting at around 9am. (See earlier post for prices, etc)

Devens vs Burgess 2 - Feb 2 at Home (Course will be Crowded)

On Saturday, February 2nd Team Devens will be hosting the Burgess 2. The course will be fairly crowded but totally playable. Expect about 30 participants in the event and about  half of the holes to be filled at all times.

Don't worry - it won't be as bad as this!

Selling Tshirts and Sweatshirts at the Sunday Social

FYI - I'll be back to the Sunday Social league this coming sunday beginning at 8:30am to sell tshirts and sweatshirts, I will sell stuff until league starts at 9:30 and then will open shop up again at around 11:45 when league ends for a bit. Come on out and support the course!

I will be at the Sunday Social league this weekend to sell the fundraiser sweatshirts and tshirts. 

League starts at 9:30 so I will get to the course by 8:30am to begin the sale.  Please plan to show up early so there isn't a huge rush right before league begins. 

If you did not pre-order, don't worry! I purchased a few extra in most sizes and I will sell those on a first come first served basis.

Tshirts - $20.00

All proceeds go into the course fund.

Wish Team Devens Luck!

Team Devens travels to the awesome Hyland Orchard and Brewery this weekend to compete in a multi-team challenge. Our opponents are West Thompson Lake and Buffumville.

The format of the multi team challenge is quite different than our usual team challenge format. We play singles and doubles in stroke play (not match play). Each team will tally their top 11 mens & 1 womens singles score and the top 6 dubs team scores and the team with the lowest score goes home 2-0. The means we could potentially be 5-0 after Saturday so wish us luck!

Help Keep the Tee Pads Cleaned!

Just a friendly reminder that if you are the first one through the course after a snowfall please take the time to shovel out the tee pads. If you don't they end up packed down and icy.

Dean was nice enough to put out shovels on most tee areas so lets use them!

Order a Devens Disc Golf Sweatshirt!

I just wanted to make you aware that Devens Disc Golf will be doing a one time run of sweatshirts with one of the new course logos:

The sweatshirt will be brown with the full logo on the back and "Devens Disc Golf" on the front breast. Very similar to the Team Challenge sweatshirts you may have seen around lately with the exception of the color change and some wording changes as well.

I'll be ordering some tshirts with the same colors and designs as well and we will begin selling those at league in March. In order to get the order in soon and use the sweatshirt during the winter months I am asking that we do preorders for the sweatshirt only.

Sunday Social League Rekindled

Word on the street is that the Sunday Social League is back in session. The League kicks off at 9:30 every sunday. Spread the word and come have some fun!

Format is usually best disc doubles and the entry fee is usually just a dollar or two.

Team Devens Hosts Borderland 2 this Weekend

This Sunday Team Devens will host its first home match against the B Pool team from Borderland. We are still charged up from our come from behind win on the road last month. Hopefully we can carry that momentum into this match and defend our home turf! Wish us luck!

The course will be pretty crowded but playable for casual rounds.

What a day! Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and to everyone who helped to make this league such a big success! There are lots of people who assist on a regular basis and it would not run smoothly without that help. I'd like to also thank those who put their hard earned money into that gift certificate. It was certainly not necessary but very much appreciated. Tara and I love that restaurant and we are excited to go back, THANK YOU!

Yesterday felt like a bunch of friends getting together to play some disc golf. I'm happy to have met you all and I look forward to doing this all again next year with the hopes of bigger and better things! Stay tuned in late winter for info on the 2013 season and as always, please feel free to provide any suggestions.

Side note - Apparently eating pizza is translates into good disc golfing. Travis held the record for most pizza consumed (8 slices!) and he shot a 52 the 2nd round...  The secret is out
